Hawthorne Elementary School is a community school that is focused on doing what is in the best interest of students. Through the use of research-based, effective teaching strategies coupled with clear and consistent behavioral expectations, students will maximize their learning potential and increase their achievement.
Hawthorne is a family of learners striving to make a positive impact on students and our community. We understand the importance of meeting the needs of our community and employ several strategies to help meet those needs. Hawthorne has established partnerships with several organizations to provide support and/or services to our families
Girls Inc. focuses on the development of the whole girl; supporting, mentoring, and guiding girls ages 6-18 in an affirming, pro-girl environment. Girls learn to value their whole selves, discover and develop their inherent strengths, and receive the support they need to navigate the challenges they face.
Healing Hearts helps students work through feelings of pain and sadness when they lose a loved one.
All Pro Dads is an organization that encourages fathers to love and lead their families well through meetings, presentations and hands-on activities. At Hawthorne, we have expanded this program to include all caregivers, or All Pro Families.
Gallahue Mental Health Services provides comprehensive behavioral health services to students/families upon request.
The Hawthorne PTA is another key to the success of the school. Parents and staff have several opportunities to engage in activities, projects, and events which build relationships and reinforces the vital role parents play in the success of their children. Our motto is, "Together We Can Make a Difference."
"I believe everyone will learn; what and how much is learned greatly depends on instruction and experiences. When students are given great instruction and experiences in a positive learning environment, their ability to be successful is greatly improved."
