Girls Tennis Improves to 6-4 After Defeating Anderson

The Lady Warriors were looking to get back on track after a tough loss against Bishop Chatard last week. They were excited to be back on their home court, after a few matches away.  Warren wasted no time to secure their first point: 1st Single Tia Hague defeated her opponent 6-0, 6-0.  The 2nd Doubles team of Kelli Rivers and JV call up Alicia Whitney followed with a 6-0, 6-1 victory.  Beyonca Weeden who was also called up from JV played 2nd Singles today and stepped right into the role, winning 6-1,6-2. The all senior 1st Doubles team of Ashley Jarels and Morgan Oconitrillo won their match 6-2, 6-2. 

JV, which only had 3 players, won their match as well. JV defeated Anderson 4-1.  Congrats to Freshmen Jennifer Zwickl, who won all 3 singles matches and to Juniors Jayleen Montero and Thatianna Guzman, who won their 2nd Doubles match but were defeated in a close 6-7 (8-10) 1st match. 

Warren will host Mt. Vernon on Wednesday, May 1, at 4:30 pm. The Lady Warriors who are 6-4 are looking to achieve the most wins in a season on Wednesday. The lady Warriors are coming off a 4-12 season last year.
