I believe everyone will learn; what and how much is learned greatly depends on instruction and experiences. When students are given great instruction and experiences in a positive learning environment, their ability to be successful is greatly improved.

Mr. Butler attended Hawthorne as a student. He attended Warren schools and graduated from Warren Central High School. He returned from Purdue University to student teach and teach at Hawthorne for ten years. He then served two years as Dean of Students at Brookview Elementary. The 2016 - 2017 school year marked his initial year as the principal of Hawthorne Elementary School.
