August 28, 2024
Good Afternoon, Warren Scholars, Families, and Staff,
We have a few important announcements for the week of August 28th.
It is hard to believe that the first full month of the 24-25 school year is coming to a close. It has been a great month! A quick #WarrenWill shout-out on our student attendance rate which is currently over 95%! Keep up the great work and please remember to call your student in when he/she is going to be absent.
Student Learning / ILEARN Results
Now that our students and teachers have settled into their routines, we’re ready to focus more deeply on student learning. Today, families with students in grades 4 through 9 should have received an electronic copy of their child’s 2023-2024 ILEARN scores via ParentSquare. In the coming weeks and during parent-teacher conferences, students, parents, and teachers will have the opportunity to review these results together, discussing both strengths and areas for growth.
We acknowledge that there is significant room for improvement in our ILEARN student performance. We are dedicating considerable time to analyzing the ILEARN test blueprints provided by the Department of Education, which you can view linked here: IDOE ILEARN BLUEPRINTS. This year, our 3rd through 8th graders will participate in the new ILEARN Through the Year Assessment. This new approach will allow our students to take informative benchmark assessments throughout the school year, giving us valuable data to identify both strengths and areas of need. The first ILEARN benchmark is scheduled for later in September.
3rd - 8th Grade Parent / Caregiver ILEARN Checkpoint Guidance
Families, please remember that Monday, September 2nd is Labor Day, and there will be no school. On Tuesday, September 3rd, we will have our all-staff professional development day and our first student asynchronous eLearning day. Students in grades 1-12 will access their assignments and activities in Canvas, while kindergarten students will receive a paper copy of their assignments and activities on Friday, August 30th.
Students will have 5 days to complete their assignments. These assignments will not only contribute to their grades but also count towards their attendance. Additional information will be shared by your child’s teachers, and you can visit our eLearning webpage if you have any questions. The 24-25 school calendar is linked here.
Vaccination Clinic - September 11, 2024
MSD Warren Township, in partnership with the Indiana Immunization Coalition, will provide a clinic to accommodate immunizations required for school-age children on Wednesday, September 11th, at Moorhead Community Resource Center from 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm. There is no cost for this and families are asked to pre-register for this event. The registration link for the immunization clinic is patients.vaxcare.com/registration. After clicking the link, enter the enrollment code IN65942, and select Warren Schools- 9/11/24. Linked here and below are the required immunizations for school-age children for the 24-25 school year.
Thank you for your continued investment in Warren students, schools, and staff. Hope you have a great rest of your week and enjoy your long weekend.
