A huge THANK YOU and CONGRATULATIONS to our Custodian of the Year, Mr. Jason Howe! Jason's smiling face, big heart, and kind spirit makes every day at Hawthorne even better. He works so hard to keep our building clean and safe, and we are so grateful for all he does!
THANK YOU to @MrKeithGraves, City-County Councillor for District 13, for spending the AM talking with 3rd and 4th graders! Councilman Graves is a proud Indy native, a veteran, father, and member of Eastern Star Church. We loved learning from him and are so grateful for his time!!

Today is U.S. School Principal's Day?! We celebrated on Friday, but we want to take another opportunity to thank our proud Principal, Mr. Butler, for all he does for #HawkNation! Check out this throwback from last spring when he was named Administrator of the Year!
Sunday, May 1, is US School Principal's Day and today, we celebrated Mr. Butler! He was a Hawthorne student, a Hawthorne student teacher, a Hawthorne teacher, a 3x Hawthorne parent, and now, is our proud Principal! He is devoted to our school community. Thank you, Mr. Butler!!!
Today, several of our K-2 classes had the opportunity to visit with Mr. Will Schaust, the Manager of Eagle Creek Ornithology Center! In a (belated) Earth Day celebration, he taught our students about birds, wildlife, and pursuing careers in STEM! We had a BLAST learning from him!
CONGRATULATIONS to our third and first grade students on their lovely music program yesterday evening, and a special THANK YOU to our marvelous music teacher, Mrs. Wynn, for all she does to make these events so special!!
