This month in Guidance, we read Have You Filled A Bucket Today and talked about the power of kindness, influencing others, and making good choices! Extend this lesson by asking your student to tell you about Bucket fillers and Bucket dippers!

On this day in 1940, Hattie McDaniel became the first Black person to win an Oscar! She won for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in “Gone With The Wind” at the 12th Academy Awards.

At Hawthorne, we prioritize relationships. This is our "You Are Loved Board", a space is a place to post photos that show students and staff learning, laughing, and connecting! It's amazing what something as simple as a bulletin board can do to help foster relationships!

A 4th grade student leading two younger Hawks in the hall! She was embodying all parts of CORE. We are grateful for the examples of our older students; they are certainly role models for our littlest Hawks!! #HawkNation

Lincoln's dream, inspired by Dr. King's "I Have A Dream" speech, is for everyone to respect each other! We are so proud that this student wants to see our CORE value of RESPECT shown throughout the world, and we hope his dream comes true!! #WarrenWill #TakeAction
